1 Why did Sindbad think that staying at home would have been a better idea?

Ans. When Sindbad was in great trouble, so he rushed to and fro but confused what to do. He cried out for help but nobody responded. He saw the vessel under full sail, just disappearing upon the horizon so he wished that he had been satisfied to stay at home in safety.

2 Describe the deserted island?

Ans. The deserted island was covered with fruit trees and plenty of springs of excellent water. There were neither houses nor its habitants. There was some shady place to take rest.

3 Why did Sindbad kick the diamonds out of his way ?

Ans. When Sindbad came quickly out of his cave and moved up and down the valley again kicking the diamonds out of his way because he felt that they were in fact worthless things to a man in this situation.

4 What trick did the merchants use to get diamonds from the eagles ?

Ans. The merchants adopted the trick to get the diamond from the eagles. He threw great chunks of meat into the valley. The chunks falling with so much force upon the diamonds, that some precious stones get stuck with chunks, when the eagles pounced upon it and carried it off their nests to feed their hungry babies.

5 How did Sindbad escape from the valley of diamonds?

Ans. The Sindbad chose the piece of meat which seemed most suitable to his purpose and with the help of my turban tied it very tight by to my back. Then he laid down upon his face and waited for the coming of eagles. Suddenly he heard the noise of the flapping of their wings above me and as expected one of them seized upon his piece of meat and took flight slowly towards the nest, into which he presently dropped him. In this way Sindbad escaped from the valley of diamonds.
